Make my link look good on X
Twitter Card Generator
Reads your page, previews its card on X in the small and large layouts, and gives you the card tags or a prompt for your AI coding tool.
Runs in your browser. The file or text you give it is not uploaded. Free, no account.
How it works
You post a link on X and no card appears, or the wrong one does. Enter your page and this tool reads its title, description and pictures, then shows the summary and large-image layouts as X arranges them. Copy the short set of tags X needs on top of your Open Graph tags, or a prompt for your AI coding tool.
- 1
Enter your page and we read its title, description and pictures. Choose the card type, adjust the text and add your site's handle. Reading the page is the only step that uses our server.
- 2
The preview shows the card as X lays it out for the type you chose.
- 3
X falls back to Open Graph tags for anything missing, so the output is the short set of tags that X needs on top of those.
What it does not do
The large image card needs an image at least 300 × 157 px and under 5 MB.
X decides whether to show a card at all; some link types and accounts get plain links.
When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.
Questions
Why does my link show up as a plain link instead of a card?
X decides whether to show a card at all. Some link types and some accounts get plain links, and no tag you add changes that. The tags say what X should show if it does show a card: the type, the title, the description and the image. Paste the link into a post to see what you get.
What image size does the large image card need?
At least 300 by 157 pixels, in a 2:1 shape, and under 5 MB. A wide image of 1200 by 600 pixels stays sharp on large screens. The summary card uses a small square image instead, at least 144 by 144 pixels. The preview lays out whatever address you enter, so check the image against these sizes before you copy the tags.
Do I need Open Graph tags as well?
X falls back to Open Graph tags for anything missing, so the card tags cover only what X needs on top of those. If a page already has an Open Graph title, description and image, you can add the card type and your handle. If it does not, fill those fields here as well.
