Make my link look good when shared
Open Graph Generator
Reads your page, builds the share card from its title, text and pictures, and gives you the Open Graph tags or a prompt for your AI coding tool.
Runs in your browser. The file or text you give it is not uploaded. Free, no account.
How it works
You share a link and the card that appears is not the one you wanted. Enter your page and this tool reads its title, description and pictures and builds the card from them. Pick the picture, change the text, and copy the Open Graph tags or a prompt for your AI coding tool. The platform still decides what appears.
- 1
Enter your page and we fill in the title, description, address and the pictures found on it. Pick a picture, change any text, and the card preview follows as you type. Reading the page is the only step that uses our server.
- 2
Paste an image address and the tool loads it to read its real size, then flags dimensions against common large-card guidelines; the platform decides the final layout.
- 3
The output includes image dimensions and alt text; the receiving platform controls the final card.
What it does not do
The image must be at a public address the platforms can fetch.
After changing tags on a page that was already shared, platforms keep the old card until their cache is refreshed.
When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.
Questions
I shared a link and the card is still the old one. Why?
Platforms cache the card for a page. After you change the Open Graph tags, the platform keeps showing the old card until its cache is refreshed. Nothing in the page markup forces that refresh. Check your image address first, because the image must be at a public address the platform can fetch.
What image size do I need for the large card?
Paste the image address and the tool loads the file and reads its real dimensions, then flags dimensions against common large-card guidelines. This is not a guarantee of the platform's layout. The output includes dimension and alt tags. Small or inaccessible images can prevent a large card; tags do not guarantee its appearance.
Do I still need a meta description if I have Open Graph tags?
They do different jobs. Search engines read the meta description for the result snippet; platforms read the Open Graph tags for the shared card. Leaving out the Open Graph tags means the platform picks whatever it finds on the page, usually the title and the first text it can read.
